I’m back!

Comments Off

Hey folks,

I’ve been a pretty dormant for a couple months I needed some time to work on new music and figure out what’s next.  Good news is that I have 2 albums worth of new songs and I’m going to bust a couple of them out at my first show back tomorrow night (4/5). We’re playing House of Young at Café Istanbul along with Erica Flowers, Mykia Jovan, a bunch of artists, poets and other bands.

I did it, and I didn’t even have to sell my body hah, just kidding. It’ll be available here and on http://www.saintbell.bandcamp free/donation…love’s ya, peace!

Next Friday we play Circle Bar for WTUL’s compilation “songs from the basement” CD release and the Friday after that is the big Allways Lounge show! Saint Bell along with Honorable South to the start of our monthly over there. Come out and show support. Our album is taking longer than expected but I’ll make sure to keep you guys tied over. We changed our set up and it’s uber exciting, Simi is rocking the drums now!! Nothing like a beautiful girl playing drums right! We’re about to make serious culture shock on this city. Join us.

Happy Mardi Gras season to all my New Orleanians, here’s the latest. My EP is done! I plan on releasing it early March, special thanks to Jacque Delatour for doing the studio engineering and Nasimiyu Murumba for doing background vocals and producing. Were doing a free a acoustic show at Neutral Ground Coffehouse Feburary 15th so come out if you can. Also I’m releasing a exclusive song for a compilation CD by WTUL I’m excited about. This is Mardi Gras season is kinda dedicated to work for me unfortunately, no parades for me beside playing with my hero Theresa Andersson at Muses on the 16th. Have a beautiful day and season! Peace, Love, Grits and Eggs!

Songwriting

Comments Off

Writing a song is having a child, you do all you can in the beginning to teach him all the lessons and wisdom that you know. Then things become more complicated, they grow into a teenager aka the recording process. It’s your job along with teachers aka producers, to get it ready for the world. Sometimes you don’t have teachers to help you (me) and you gotta do it all yourself. Then you put that song out aka it makes 18 and you let it out the house. No turning back now, some ppl have regrets but that song is gonna do whatever it want, it’s gonna spend time in the wrong places, and work his way up to the right places.
